General Plan for Sremska Mitrovica, Lacarka and Macvanska Mitrovica was made as pilot plan proposed when Law on Planning and Construction of Republic of Serbia (Marin Kresic was President of National commission in charge for making of that law) was developed. This was at the same time the first Plan in Serbia that uses division on typical and characteristic city areas and employs premeditated rules of construction determined by Law on Planning and Construction of Republic of Serbia.
The team was lead by architects Mladen Vrzic and Marin Kresic, with full contribution and cooperation of professional team from Public Institution for urban development (today this institution is called “Direkcija” ) from Sremska Mitrovica.
This Plan is now used as plan of general regulation. The Plan improved the procedure for obtaining required licenses for construction by making the entire process more consistent, logical and easier to execute.
Generalni Plan Sremske Mitrovice, Lacarka i Macvanske Mitrovice je radjen kao pilot plan uz izradu novog Zakona o planiranju i izgradnji. To je i prvi plan u Srbiji koji na funkcionalan nacin koristi podelu na tipicne gradske celine i pravila gradnje.
Tim su vodili Mladen Vrzic i Marin Kresic, uz puni doprinos strucne ekipe iz JP za urbanizam Sremske Mitrovice (danas Direkcija).
Po donosenju novog Zakona, ovaj plan ce funkcionisati kao plan generalne regulacije, spreman za izvode iz plana radi jednostavnog dobijanja odobrenja za izgradnju za sve vrste objekata.
