Calypso Diving Club, which is placed in the Sports Recreation Center "Tas" in Belgrade, has been founded by the best Yugoslavian diver Bozana Ostojic. The grand opening was on the 16th of July 1997. This was an expected move from Bozana since we all know how grate is her wish to teach other people to this magnificent sport and show them at least some part of her vast experience. In Calypso we don't just learn how to survive in the deep waters, but we also meet interesting people, make new friends and have fun. It all begins with an interesting but an intense diving course at the swimming pool, where new divers meet for the first time with their equipment and the rules that are essential for this sport. Afterwards we have excursions to Montenegro, Saishels, Greece... Only after such an excursion we can fully appreciate the beauty of the depths and of the completely new world underwater. We invite you to have a peek at some great pictures which can give you an insight to the sea diving. A year ago, Calypso became a Underwater Hockey club as well. Sport which roots lead from the England of 1950. is slowly coming to the many Belgrade pools. Calypso is the internationally most famous club. More than 11 divers from Calypso represented Yugoslavia at the World Underwater Hockey Championship 1998. at the San Jose University in USA. Bozana Ostojic is a chairman of the exam committee for the World Divers Association. You can also see her on this picture beside the famous Zak Custo, by whose ship the club got it's name. What more can I say about Bozana's credentials, except that I am very proud to know her and work with her. |
