City of Becej is in the north of Yugoslavia, in Vojvodina, some 80 km from the north border.

First written document about my city is from 1091, mentioning a small settlement on right bank of river Tisa.

Municipality of Becej is situated on the right bank of river Tisa, 82 m above sea-level. It occupies area of 486,2 square km, 87,43% of which is the best agricultural land.

The city has 27.000 inhabitants, in about 10.000 households, while the municipality has 45.000 inhabitants and about 16.000 households.

 Natural resources of my city are:

• highly fertile agricultural land
• source of carbon-dioxide (CO₂)
• thermal water
• water flows (river Tisa, canals)
• possibilities for production of healthy human food (not treated with pesticides)

Agricultural production is consisting of farming and cattle breeding.

Municipality of Bečej has aprox. 45.000 ha of sowing land. Average production per year is:

•   65.000 t - 75.000 t of wheat
• 110.000 t - 120.000 t of maize
• 100.000 t - 120.000 t of industrial plants (soybean, sunflower, sugar beet...)
