children and aikido
Modern way of life imposes great temptations on the young ones, so it is not a rare occasion that some of them take after the bad examples which are numerous nowadays. Attending Aikido training sessions can hep children to gain calmness, cast away vengefulness, learn to control aggression and be well accepted by other kids. Aikido can only help with this, parents are the ones who are the most responsible in achieving such a goal. Aikido is helpful with proper physical development of a child, gaining good movement coordination and good health. It is important to understand that Aikido is an art that assists in building a healthy spirit and that it's techniques are a tool used to achieve this:
"The way of a warrior is based on humanity, love and sincerity; the heart of martial valor is true bravery, wisdom, love and friendship. Emphasis on physical aspects of warriorship is futile, for the power of the body is always limited."
If determined to enroll a child to Aikido classes, one shouldn't choose the closest dojo. It is necesarry for a parent to visit several dojos and ensure that the right choice is made. Also, after a certain dojo is picked, the parent should visit several training sessions in that particular dojo in order to check if the instructors are devoting their full attention to the trainees regardless of their own mood.
